Biographical Information[edit]

Víctor Moscote played his 7th minor league season in 2017.

Moscote was signed by New York Mets scouts Rafael Perez, Ismael Cruz and Alex Zapata in July 2010. He made his pro debut as a 1B/C for the DSL Mets 1 (.143/.226/.286 in 14 G) and DSL Mets 2 (.121/.216/.273 in 15 G). In 2012, he was much better at the plate, batting .280/.371/.383 for the DSL Mets 1 while fielding .911 at third base and .991 at first base. As a 1B/C again in 2013, he produced at a .250/.310/.327 clip for the DSL Mets 2. He fielded .990 at 1B in 2014 (also seeing a little action at C and 3B) while hitting .308/.365/.366 between the DSL Mets 1 (31 G) and DSL Mets 2 (32 G).

He came stateside in 2015 and hit .191/.299/.248 as the primary first baseman for the GCL Mets. In 2016, he batted .293/.385/.367 for the GCL Mets while fielding .997 at first. He was 9th in the Gulf Coast League in batting average, between Jonathon Arrowood and Aldrem Corredor. He was mostly a catcher in 2017, seeing a little time with the St. Lucie Mets (1 for 9) and hitting .215/.280/.308 in 18 games for the Kingsport Mets. He then joined the Panamanian national team for the 2017 Central American Games, going 1 for 4 with a sacrifice fly as a backup for the Silver Medalists.
