Chris Young[edit]
Are you going to move them every time they're traded? What if the Chris Youngs are teammates? Are you going to change every disambig to "player(team)"? What about retired players? What team goes in their parenthesis? --Jeff 12:24, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
I'm not sure that "leaving it for now" is the way to go. The naming convention you've chosen will change at some point. It would be a good idea to figure it now. --Jeff 17:23, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
For consistency's sake, are you going to move all the other players with the same name? We now have two active Rich Thompsons and a retired one, two of them are pitchers as just one example of hundreds. It seems odd to only have one name changed. --Jeff 18:05, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
P.S. when you move articles, check the Double Redirects page.
P.P.S. are you going to make the Yankees, Tigers, and Red Sox like all the other teams without seasons at the end?
Does it not allow you to delete the redirect to move the page? --Jeff 21:49, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
I think adding positions is not optimal either, as in the Rich Thompson case. The article name won't affect its google rating as far as I know and using unique names for each page that will not be replicated later seems reasonable to me. - --Mischa 16:12, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
re:whats happening[edit]
- you can limit your contribs page by namespace
- why is a detailed look at the league standings necessary on a team's page? On the 1908 Highlanders page, do I need to know that the Chicago White Sox went 88-64 and finished 1½ games out of first. On the other hand, if within the text of the article it was written that "The Highlanders finished dead last, 39½ games behind the first place Detroit Tigers, and seventeen games behind seventh place Washington". The sentence establishes how bad the team was compared to its league without the extra clutter. Also, the seasonal pages used to link to the the league-season but do not.
- Why is it important to show that Jordan had four at-bats? Perhaps a better example would be Don Hahn on the 1969 Expos. On the team's page, Hahn is listed on the page with his uniform number. What would the purpose of showing that Hahn had 9 at-bats with a hit serve on that page?
- you could just embed this template within the infobox or use parser functions
- nc
- the The Dressed to the Nines database is still active. It would be better -- with less copyright infringement -- if we used something similar to Template:Baseball_uniform at wikipedia

- Re: SNB (i.e. season templates)
- see the instructions. Please revert Template:San Francisco Giants seasons
- Re: Roster templates
- instead of creating a new template, you can just add a non-breaking space (
or
or
), to the number variable. Also, for piped names, you need to use {{!}} instead of a normal pipe
- instead of creating a new template, you can just add a non-breaking space (
- Please finish moving the "...season" pages which are listed here

Notable Achievements[edit]
Before making changes to the Notable Achievements section on a players' page, please read this article. Thanks. --Philippe 08:48, 28 September 2007 (EDT)
