Biographical Information[edit]
Ugueth Urbina Jr. is the son of Ugueth Urbina and brother of Juan Urbina.
Urbina Jr. moved to Spain with his mother in 2005. He pitched in the Spanish minors for CB Sant Boi, FC Barcelona and Hercules L’Hospitalet. In 2009, he pitched in the MLB European Academy. When his fastball peaked at 88 mph in late 2011, he was signed by the Seattle Mariners. The scouts were Juan Garcia Puig, Wayne Norton and Emilio Carrasquel. At the time, he had not yet reached Spain's Division Honor. He made his pro debut with the 2012 VSL Mariners.
