Biographical Information

Shortstop Tzu-Yu Tseng played in the CPBL.

Tseng was drafted by the TSG Hawks with their first draft pick - the first overall pick of the 2022 CPBL Draft. He hit .297/.348/.373 in the minor league in 2023, and he was the starting shortstop of the first CPBL game of the Hawks. He collected his first career hit on the 7th inning - an infield single against Kai-Cheng Wang of the CTBC Brothers. He was selected into the 2024 CPBL All-Star Game, and he went 0-for-4 in 2 games. Tseng ended up hitting .270/.344/.336 with 13 steals, and he was 7th in hits (22 behind Chih-Cheng Chiu). He beat his teammates Po-Hsuan Wang and Po-Ching Chen to win the 2024 CPBL Rookie of the Year.
