Biographical Information[edit]

Tyrone Omar has been on the Northern Mariana Islands national team.

He was 3 for 15 with a run in the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games. [1] He set the Northern Mariana Islands records for times in the 100-meter (10.99) and 200-meter (22.40) dash in the 2007 South Pacific Games, when the country did not field a baseball field. [2] He was MVP of the 2008 Saipan Major League. [3] He drove in the Islands' first run in the 2011 Pacific Games, breaking a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 9th against Palau with a grounder off Kalson Dulei to score Eric Tenorio. Entering the Gold Medal Game, he had hit .160/.250/.280 with six runs in seven games and two steals in four tries. He handled 10 chances error-free. He was 4th in the Games in runs (behind Juan Maratita, Jesus Iguel and B.J. Balajadia). [4] Hitting 9th and playing center in the Gold Medal Game, he went 0 for 2 with a walk and a run while handling two putouts and one assist in his country's 8-4 win over Guam. [5]
