Biographical Information[edit]

IF Ty Nichols was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 24th round of the 1983 amateur draft. He played in the Orioles' farm system from 1984 to 1989.

For his career, Nichols hit .213 in exactly 2000 at bats over 596 games with 73 doubles, 14 triples, and 29 home runs. He had his best season in 1986 with the Carolina League Hagerstown Suns. In 110 games, he hit .271 with fifteen doubles, two triples, and ten home runs.

Nichols has since served as an area scout for the Toronto Blue Jays ( -2009) and Chicago Cubs (2010- ), signing Dallas Beeler, Dennis Bigley, Justin James, Shaun Marcum, Adam Peterson, David Purcey and Rob Zastryzny among others.

Ty has a wife named Chris and two children, Alexandra and Lance. Nichols father is Lance Nichols.
