Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Lance Nichols played in the Los Angeles Dodgers farm system from 1961 to 1967. He played in the Texas League in 1964-1965 and 1967 and reached as high as the Spokane Indians in 1966, but hit only .188/.244/.227 in his lone AAA season.
In addition to his managerial career detailed below, Nichols was also a scout for the Baltimore Orioles (1981-1982), Philadelphia Phillies, and Colorado Rockies.
Lance's son Ty Nichols played minor league ball in the Baltimore Orioles organization and later became a scout for the Chicago Cubs.
