Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Trevor Oaks was a 7th round selection by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2014 amateur draft, out of California Baptist University. he spent his first four professional season in the Dodgers' minor league system, rising quickly as he reached AAA in mid-2016. he had his best season that year, going a combined 14-3, 2.74 for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (California League), Tulsa Drillers (Texas League) and Oklahoma City Dodgers (Pacific Coast League). The following season, 2017, he went 4-3, 3.64 in 16 games for Oklahoma City, but he was slowed down by an oblique injury and had to make a couple of rehabilitation stints in the low minors. he was added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster after the season.
On January 4, 2018, he was traded to the Kansas City Royals alongside fellow prospect Erick Mejia in return for major league relievers Scott Alexander and Joakim Soria. He made his debut for the Royals on April 28th facing the Chicago White Sox in the first game of a doubleheader. He gave up 5 runs on 12 hits in 5 innings to be charged with the 8-0 loss. Ironically,m the first hit he gave up, in the 2nd inning, was also the first major league hit for Daniel Palka of the White Sox.
