Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Trevor Hildenberger was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the 2014 amateur draft, out of the University of California, Berkeley. He was used exclusively as a relief pitcher during his professional career, starting by going 1-4, 2.48 with 10 saves in 24 appearances between the Elizabethton Twins and the GCL Twins in 2014. In 2015, he began the year with the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League, but after dominating the circuit with a minute ERA of 0.80 in 28 games, he earned a late-year promotion to the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League. between the two stops, he went 3-2, 1.55 in 41 games, with 17 saves and 80 strikeouts in 64 innings.

In 2016, Trevor began the season at Fort Myers then was promoted to the Chattanooga Lookouts of the AA Southern League. Continuing his dominance on the mound, his ERA was below 1.00 with both teams and he ended up going 3-4, 0.75 in 38 games. He recorded another 19 saves and in 48 innings struck out 53 batters while walking only 6. He began 2017 in the International League with the Rochester Red Wings, where he continued to mystify batters. In 21 games, he was 2-1, 2.05 with 6 saves when he was called up to Minnesota on June 23rd. He made his big league debut the same day with one inning of scoreless relief.
