Biographical Information[edit]
Tom Lundstedt had his one career RBI playing for the Minnesota Twins on July 12, 1975 as a pinch hitter in the top of the 16th off Pat Dobson, scoring Rod Carew, against the New York Yankees. His hit gave the Twins the lead, but Twins pitcher Tom Burgmeier was not able to hold the lead. Graig Nettles and Lou Piniella came up with RBI singles to give the Yankees the 8-7 win in the 16-inning contest at Shea Stadium.
In addition to that year with the Twins, Lundstedt played for the Chicago Cubs in 1973 and 1974. He never had more than 32 at-bats in any of his three big league seasons, and appeared in a total of 44 games overall, batting .092. He was exclusively a catcher, although he was used as a pinch-hitter for the designated hitter a couple of times in his final season, giving him two games at that position as well.
