The 1975 New York Yankees played the 73rd season in team history. They finished with a record of 83-77, 12 games behind of the Boston Red Sox. New York was managed by Bill Virdon and Billy Martin. The Yankees played at Shea Stadium due to the ongoing renovation of Yankee Stadium. That work would be done in time for opening day 1976, whereupon the Yankees would return to baseball's elite.
