Biographical Information

Tom Incaviglia played four seasons in the Brooklyn Dodgers chain. He also served in the US Navy. His son Pete Incaviglia was a slugger in the majors while another son, Tony Incaviglia, made it to AA. Tom's grandkids Philip Incaviglia and Thomas Incaviglia, also played professionally.

Tom hit .209/?/.255 in his pro debut with the 1948 Medford Nuggets. In 1949, he batted .251 and slugged .329 with the Billings Mustangs. During 1950, he hit .272/.375/.522 with 31 doubles and 77 runs in 84 games as the main third baseman (fielding .899 at the hot corner) for the Hazard Bombers. He also batted .174/.301/.279 for the Trois-Rivieres Royals. He did not play from 1951-1954; in 1955, he hit .200/.354/.473 with 22 HR in 89 games for the Cedar Rapids Raiders, the kind of low-average, high-power numbers his son would become known for. He tied Gene Green for 5th in the Three-I League in home runs.

He coached at Robert Louis Stevenson School in the 1970s.
