Biographical Information[edit]

Todd Trafton played in the minor leagues and CPBL.

Trafton was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 6th round of the 1982 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign. The White Sox took him again in the 5th round of the 1986 Amateur Draft, and he hit .290/.380/.419 for the Peninsula White Sox in 1986. His batting line was .263/.341/.423 with the Daytona Beach Admirals in 1987, and he hit .260/.341/.442 for the Tampa White Sox in 1988. Trafton was promoted to AA Birmingham Barons in the middle of the 1988 season, but he only hit .213/.263/.341 in 77 games. He improved to .259/.343/.427 with 12 homers for the Barons in 1989, and he hit .259/.350/.448 in 1990. Trafton reached AAA in this year, but he struggled with the as his batting line was .188/.295/.256 in 42 games.

The Californian split between AA and AAA class in the next two seasons. He hit .285/.357/.456 with 9 homers for the AAA Nashville Sounds, and his batting line was .260/.340/.416 with AA Chattanooga Lookouts. Trafton then recorded a .281/.363/.484 batting line for the Lookouts in 1991, and he hit .252/.357/.435 with the sounds. He mainly stayed in the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexico League in 1993, and he also played 8 games with the Tucson Toros. Trafton then played in Mexico for 4 years. The Brother Elephants of the CPBL signed him in 1998, and Trafton hit .333/.434/.516 with 15 doubles. Had he qualified, he would ranked 4th in batting (between Chiung-Lung Huang and Chin-Mao Chen). He had a .256/.418/.326 batting line in 1998 with the Bridgeport Bluefish, and he hit for the Guerreros de Oaxaca in 1999. The 1999 season was the last season for him as a professional player.
