Biographical Information[edit]

Utility player Todd Guggiana played in the Texas Rangers system in 1990 and 1991 and in 1993 and 1994. He was taken by the club in the 19th round of the 1990 amateur draft and was signed by scout Len Strelitz. In his first campaign, he slashed .351/.413/.532 with 4 home runs and 52 RBI in 66 games for the Butte Copper Kings and in 1991, he hit .295/.386/.424 with 2 home runs and 18 RBI in 36 games for the Port Charlotte Rangers. After not playing in 1992, he returned to hit .286/.340/.375 with 4 home runs and 79 RBI in 134 games for Port Charlotte. In his first taste of the mid-minors, he slipped to .198/.301/.255 with no home runs and 8 RBI in 39 games for the Double A Tulsa Drillers to wrap up his career.

Overall, Guggiana hit .294/.360/.408 with 10 home runs and 157 RBI in 275 games over four seasons.

Following his playing career, he became a scout for the Rangers, signing, among others, Joey Gallo, Desmond Henry, Mike Lamb, Kameron Loe, Matt Nevarez, Evan Reed, Drew Robinson, Dillon Tate and Chad Tracy.
