Biographical Information[edit]

Todd Fairbrother was on the Australian national team.

Fairbrother debuted for the Gold Coast Dolphins in the 1992-1993 Australian Baseball League, going 1-1 with a save and a 6.14 ERA in nine outings. He next appeared for the 1994-1995 East Coast Cougars, going 0-1 with a 11.42 ERA. In 1998-1999, the big righty posted a winning record (2-1) for the Brisbane Bandits but had a 11.08 ERA, .370 opponent average and 2.46 WHIP. He also played some DH, going 3 for 24 with a homer, walk, four runs and six RBI.

After the original Australian Baseball League folded, he appeared for the Queensland Rams in the 2002 Claxton Shield, saving a game and posting a 2.45 ERA in three outings. He went 2 for 8 with a double, two walks and two RBI. In the '03 Shield, he hit .227/.333/.364 with five RBI in seven games but allowed three runs in his one inning on the hill.

He played for Australia in the 2003 Oceania Championship, going 0 for 4 with two walks and a run as they qualified for the 2004 Olympics (where they would win the Silver Medal). In the 2005 Claxton Shield, he drew a RBI walk as a backup catcher and had a 0-1, 6.75 record on the mound for Queensland.

Having played in Australia, he then played in Austria, as player-manager of the 2008 Kufstein Vikings. He hit .374/.477/.736 with 9 homers and 37 RBI in 26 games, going 7-2 with a save and a 1.23 ERA. He was second in the Austrian Baseball League in slugging, 4th in OPS, 1st in homers, 2nd in RBI, 2nd in ERA and tied for 4th in wins.
