Biographical Information[edit]
Terrence McClain has been an outfielder in the independent leagues and in the Italian Baseball League.
Terrence began his pro career with the 2003 Evansville Otters, hitting .268/.336/.380 as their main left fielder. He remained with the club in 2004 and put up a similar .262/.343/.398 line; he tied for 8th in the Pioneer League in times hit-by-pitch (10). He split 2005 between the Otters (.296/.377/.449 in 28 G) and Fullerton Flyers (.259/.302/.392 in 51 G). Moving north to the Edmonton Cracker-Cats, he batted .282/.356/.428 with 22 doubles in 2006. His 5 triples tied him for 4th in the Northern League. In '07, McClain had a very good year for the Cracker-Cats at .304/.356/.465 with 6 triples, 11 homers, 69 runs, 59 RBI and 9 steals in 10 tries. He tied for 5th in the Northern League in three-baggers and tied for 10th in runs.
In 2008, McClain served as assistant coach at Lipscomb University before the indy season began. He played for the Shreveport Sports (.238/.319/.368 in 60 G) and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (.237/.348/.288 in 26 G) that summer. He appeared for the Amarillo Dillas in 2009; stats are unavailable. That fall, he began a job as assistant coach at Page High School.
The veteran was with the Victoria Seals of the high-flying Golden Baseball League in 2010 and his numbers responded accordingly: .330/.387/.528, 14 HR, 63 R, 63 R, 19 SB, 4 CS in 85 G. He tied Alex Prieto for 10th in the league in doubles, tied for 8th in home runs, tied Josh Womack for 9th in steals and just missed the top 10 in RBI.
McClain signed with Italy's Godo Knights for 2011 and hit .296/.412/.444 while playing primarily 1B. He tied for 9th in the league with 9 doubles and tied Juan Carlos Infante for 6th with 27 walks. Back in the US in '12, he played briefly for the McAllen Thunder (6 for 43, 2 BB).
