They were originally a charter member of the independent Texas-Louisiana League. The Dillas were the 1999 Texas-Louisiana League champions. In November 2004, the Dillas were dropped from the renamed Central Baseball League due to financial problems. The Dillas were replaced in the league by the El Paso Diablos. The Amarillo Dillas were brought back in 2005 as one of six charter members of the independent United League Baseball (ULB). ULB teams are owned by the league.
