November 26: Today's featured birthday is that of Sam Militello, who turns 55.
- 1911 - Cy Young wins his 511th - and last - game in the major leagues, beating the Pirates, 1-0.
- 1912 - Eddie Collins (pictured) steals six bases in a game for the second time this month. No one else has had two six-steal games during a major lague career, let alone a month.
- 1954 - Karl Spooner sets a record by striking out 15 batters in his major league debut.
- 1968 - Cesar Tovar plays all nine positions during a game for the Twins. He is the second player in major league history to perform the feat.
- 2003 - The Tigers lose their 118th game, setting a new American League record (they will finish with 119). The rebuilding Tigers will make it to the World Series just three years later.
