November 15: Today's featured birthday is that of Randy Niemann, who turns 69.
- 1945 - Vince DiMaggio ties a major league record with his fourth grand slam of the season.
- 1957 - The New York Giants visit the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field for the last time. 18,000 fans turn out for a 7-5 Giants win.
- 1958 - Vinegar Bend Mizell sets a record by walking nine men while throwing a shutout. The St. Louis Cardinals' Mizell beats the Cincinnati Redlegs, 1-0.
- 1964 - Masanori Murakami becomes the first Japanese-born player in the majors. The San Francisco Giants' lefty holds the New York Mets scoreless in one inning of relief.
- 1971 - The Pittsburgh Pirates become the first team to field an all-black starting line-up. Included in the line-up are future Hall of Famers Willie Stargell in left field and Roberto Clemente in right.
- 1998 - Mark McGwire (pictured) breaks the National League record previously held by Hack Wilson with his 57th home run of the season for the St. Louis Cardinals in a 7-1 win.
