- 1927 - Mel Ott hits an inside-the-park home run for his first career circuit clout. He will hit 510 more major league homers, but none of them will be an inside-the-park effort.
- 1978 - Duane Kuiper (pictured) hits two bases-loaded triples in a game, becoming only the third major leaguer in the 20th Century to do so.
- 1988 - Tommy John makes an unenviable three errors on a single play, bobbling a grounder by Jeffrey Leonard, throwing it into right field, then taking the relay throw from Rob Deer and promptly firing it over Don Slaught's head to let Jim Gantner and Leonard both score.
- 1997 - Eelco Jansen throws the first regular season perfect game by a Dutch pitcher in Hoofdklasse history.
- 1998 - Tony Womack has his 888th straight at-bat without grounding into a double play. This breaks Pete Reiser's 52-year-old record.
