- 1906 - Cy Falkenberg hits the first grand slam by a pitcher in the 20th Century.
- 1948 - Pat Seerey becomes the first major leaguer with two games of 15+ total bases, thanks to the fifth four-homer game in major league history. The White Sox beat the Athletics, 12-11.
- 1970 - Willie Mays singles against Mike Wegener for his 3,000th career hit.
- 1987 - Don Mattingly (pictured) homers for the eighth straight game, tying Dale Long's 31-year-old record.
- 1999 - With Don Larsen throwing out the opening pitch to Yogi Berra to commemorate his perfect game, David Cone promptly tosses a perfecto of his own. He strikes out 10 Expos.
