- 1963 - Future Hall of Famers Luis Aparicio and Hoyt Wilhelm are traded in a major deal between the Orioles and White Sox.
- 1987 - Catfish Hunter and Billy Williams (pictured) are elected to the Hall of Fame.
- 2011 - Hiromitsu Ochiai and Mutsuo Minagawa are elected to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
