Biographical Information[edit]

Tanner Leighton stole 31 bases as a college senior. In 2012, he hit .201/.291/.299 in 48 games between the Washington Wild Things and Road Warriors, playing both the outfield and second base. Signing with the Solingen Alligators the next year, he batted .456/.543/.718 with 15 doubles, 32 runs, 33 RBI, 23 steals and 19 walks in 28 games, fielding .957 at 2B. He was among the northern Bundesliga-1 leaders in average (2nd to Brent Buffa), RBI (tied for second with Buffa behind Eric Krzysiak), hits (47, 3rd), runs (6th), walks (19, 8th), steals (1st, 8 more than anyone else), slugging (3rd behind Daniel Lamb-Hunt and Bradley Roper-Hubbert) and OBP (3rd).

In the 2014 European Cup, he went 7 for 20 with 5 walks and 7 runs including a 4-for-4 in an upset of Nettuno. He tied Jairo Ramos Gizzi for second in runs (two behind Danny Rombley), tied Mark-Jan Moorman, Jordan Rogers and Willie Vasquez for 5th in total bases (11) and tied David Gauthier for 4th in runs. In the Bundesliga-1, he hit .500/.596/.854 with 30 runs and 33 RBI; he fielded .937, playing mainly 2B. He won the batting title this time (80 points ahead of Daniel Sánchez and Dominik Wulf), tied Tucker White for the home run lead (6), led in RBI to complete the Triple Crown (4 ahead of Adam Greenberg), was second in hits (one behind Sánchez), was second in runs (one behind White), tied for first in walks (20), led in slugging (.104 over White), led in OBP (.065 over Wulf) and tied for 5th in steals (8). He won the MVP.
