Dominik Wulf has played for the German national team since he was a teenager and has been a star performer in Bundesliga, routinely leading the league or finishing in the top several in numerous departments.

Dominik was on the German junior team in 1998 and 1999; he was 2 for 7 with 3 walks in the 1998 European Junior Championship. In the 1999 European Junior Championship, Wulf hit .364/.423/.545 with 6 RBI in six games. He debuted that year for the senior national team in the 2001 European Championship, going 1 for 9.

Wulf hit .468/.541/.734 as a second baseman for the 2002 Cologne Dodgers. He led the Bundesliga's northern division in hits (44) and triples (3). He was third in average, .004 shy of the lead. He tied for 5th in homers (3), was 6th in RBI (23), scored 38 runs (second to Octavio Medina), was second in slugging and third in OBP.

Wulf moved to the Solingen Alligators in 2003 and batted .379/.478/.655 while fielding just .857 at shortstop and third baseman. He led the northern division with four home runs and was third in slugging. In the 2003 European Championship, the youngster was just 3 for 20 with a triple and a walk.

In 2004, Wulf hit .511/.566/.761 to lead the northern Bundesliga in average (56 points over Medina), was third in RBI (26), led in hits (45), third in doubles (8), led in triples (4), was second in runs (31, trailing Medina by 3), led in slugging, was second in OBP (.005 behind Medina), easily led in OPS, led in steals (15) and was second in steal percentage (he was only caught twice). The only weak spot was defense, as he made 15 errors, second in the circuit. In the 2004 European Championship B-Pool, Wulf hit .583/.643/1.375 with 10 extra-base hits (4 homers), 17 runs and 18 RBI in only six games.

Wulf batted .457/.514/.691 for the 2005 Alligators. He finished second in the northern Bundesliga in average, tied for second in home runs (5), was second in RBI (32), led in hits (43), tied for 7th in runs (28), was third in slugging, fourth in OBP and second in OPS. When he was second or third, the only players to outperform him were usually American imports. He fielded .896, better than the prior two seasons, if not great. Wulf played well in the 2005 European Championship, hitting .382/.436/.529 for the #4 team with 8 runs in 9 games.

Wulf hit .317/.441/.500 in an off-season in 2006. He fielded .951 while being shuffled between second, short and third. He even pitched four games, going 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA. He was 15th in the north in average, tied for third with two home runs, tied for 6th with 7 doubles, tied for 5th with 23 runs, was 5th with 16 walks, ranked 9th in slugging and 9th in OPS. He tied for 6th with 10 steals.

At age 24, Wulf batted .507/.576/.971 in 2007 to help Solingen make it to the semifinals, where they fell to eventual champion Mainz. He ranked among the northern division leaders in average (first by .050), home runs (4, second to Michael Franke's 5), RBI (36, first), hits (36, tied for first), doubles (12, first), triples (2, tied for second), runs (27, tied for 4th), times hit by pitch (7, tied for second), slugging (first by .248 over Jerin Harper), OBP (second), OPS (first by .261 over Christian Nsien) and steals (9, 9th) as he just missed a Triple Crown. He also fielded a solid .956 while playing mainly third base. Additionally, he pitched 8 shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out nine. He saved three games to tie for the division lead.

In the 2007 European Championship, Wulf hit .267/.333/.433 with 7 runs and 6 RBI in eight games as Germany finished fourth for the second straight European Championship. He batted .174/.321/.174 in the 2007 Baseball World Cup.

Wulf batted .208/.296/.250 for Germany in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. He scored the winning run against South Africa with a 7th-inning single before Donald Lutz drove him in.

Through 2008, Wulf is among the all-time German national team leaders in games played (7th, 50), average (tied with Sascha Lutz for 13th at .293), home runs (tied with Martin Helmig for 2nd with 6, one behind Frank Jäger), RBI (3rd, 32), hits (3rd, 48), runs (3rd, 36), walks (tied for 11th with Helmig, 15), slugging (7th, .488), OBP (14th, .372) and assists (2nd to Jendrick Speer with 118).
