Biographical Information[edit]
Takeshi Kunimoto has caught for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in the industrial leagues and for the Japanese national team. He was 4 for 7 with a double, homer, 3 runs and 3 RBI in the 2014 Asian Games, backing up Shigeki Nakano at catcher and splitting DH with Ryota Ito. His big damage came in a rout of Mongolia, when he had 3 of his hits and all his RBI against Munkhbat Dashzeveg. In the 2015 Asian Championship, he backed up Takuya Kinoshita (Nakano also was a backup at C), going 2 for 4. He doubled off Song Ran in the 9th inning of a win over China and singled off Taiwan's Yen-Ching Lu.
