South Carolina State University was known as South Carolina State College until 1992.
South Carolina State sponsored baseball from at least 1957 until 1974 and in 1993. SCSC was a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference from 1935 to 1971. The school's other teams currently compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
