Biographical Information[edit]

Soo-min Lim played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 9 years.

Lim was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the 11th round of the 1996 KBO draft, and he played 115 games with a .216/.291/.336 batting line in his first season. He struggled again as he only hit .218/.256/.287 in 1997, then he recorded a .209/.290/.373 batting line in 1998. Lim broke out in 1999, and he crushed 16 homers with a .274/.365/.463 batting line. He then missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he represented South Korea in the 2001 Asian Championship. Lim returned in 2002, and he hit .227/.313/.358 with 10 homers. He improved to .276/.338/.408 in 2003, then he hit .245/.287/.396 with 9 homers in 111 games in 2004. When In-sik Kim became Hanwha's new manager in 2005, he often used Lim as a pinch-hitter, and he only played 64 games with a .234/.265/.369 batting line. He was 2-for-13 in 2006, then he announced his retirement. He coached Bugil Academy from 2011 to 2012, and he was named the minor league fielding coach of the Eagles from 2013 to 2014. He was the fielding coach of their big club in 2015 and 2017, and he stayed in the minors in 2016. Lim became the fielding coach of the Sangmu Phoenix in 2018, and he coached Yale Meditech High School in 2019 and Hanil University from 2020 to 2022.

Overall, Lim hit .241/.309/.378 with 485 hits and 54 homers in 9 seasons in the KBO.
