Biographical Information[edit]

Simon Vicente has played in the French Division I and for the French national team.

Vicente attended the MLB European Academy in 2009. [1] He hit .224/.286/.328 for the Barracudas de Montpellier that summer, fielding .964; he was primarily a first baseman during his career. [2] He hit .200/.333/.250 and served as France's main first baseman in the 2009 European Junior Championship. [3]

In 2010, he hit .290/.327/.360 for the Barracudas with 20 RBI in 24 games, fielding .960. In the 2010 European U-21 Championship, he batted .158/.273/.211. [4] In '11, he produced at a .299/.354/.402 clip for Montpellier, fielding .934; he drove in 19 in 22 games.

He hit .212/.250/.212 for Canada's Douglas College in 2012. [5] He moved that summer to the Chevaliers de Beaucaire (he had played for them in the French minors before they moved up to the top league). He hit .300/.404/.300 and fielded .894. He was on the French team in the 2012 European Championship, backing up Anthony Cros at 1B. In his debut, he replaced Andy Paz at DH in a 8-3 loss to Germany and flew out against Eugen Heilmann. His other game, he started at first in a 9-5 loss to Greece, going 1 for 4; his hit came off Theon Bourdaniotis. [6]

Vicente hit .259/.328/.278 and fielded .987 in an off-year in 2013. In '14, he rebounded to .317/.363/.413 with 19 RBI, fielding .940. He also started one game on the hill, giving up 7 runs (3 earned) in 4 innings in a loss. He hit .324/.397/.338 and fielded .989 for the 2015 Chevaliers. He faded to .237/.321/.301 in 2016. He batted .222/.286/.278 in the 2016 CEB Cup but drove in 5 runs in 5 games to tie for 6th in the Cup in RBI. [7] After sitting out 2017, he hit .287/.379/.361 for the '18 Cougars de Montigny.

He later worked as a geologist. [8]
