Biographical Information[edit]
Seung-woo Ju has pitched in the KBO and for the South Korean national team.
Ju represented South Korea in the 2019 Asian Championship. He relieved Jae-min Kang in the 7th inning against the Philippines, and he retired Juan Alvaro Macasaet to end the game. He then succeeded Yee-kyung Choi in the 4th inning against Chinese Taipei, and he allowed 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings. In the Bronze Medal Game against China, Ju relieved Kang in the 8th inning, but he surrendered a run in 1/3 of an inning and Korea lost. [1] He also represented Korea in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup.
The Kiwoom Heroes selected him in the first round of the 2021 KBO draft, and they also selected his brother Seung-bin Ju in the 5th round. They were the first pair of brothers to be selected by the same team in the same year. [2] Ju only pitched 4 games in 2022, and his ERA was 9.56 in 11 games in 2023. He improved to a 4.35 ERA in 55 appearances in 2024, and he also notched 14 saves and 5 holds.
