Biographical Information[edit]
Jae-min Kang was on the South Korean national team and has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Kang pitched for South Korea in the 2019 Asian Championship. He did okay against the Philippines national team (2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) and retired all seven batters (3 by K) in closing out a 7-1 loss to Taiwan, a bright spot on the day for Korea. Entering the finals, he was tied for 7th in the event in ERA with Yoshiki Yamada and was 4th in opponent average (.118, between Hsin-Chieh Lin and Shota Abe). In the Bronze Medal Game, he relieved Dong-hyun Bae in the 6th with a lead against China but struggled with 8 hits and 5 runs (3 earned) in 2 innings to take the loss to Tao Zhang as South Korea failed to medal for the first time in an Asian Championship in 14 years. [1]
The Hanwha Eagles took him in the 4th round of the 2020 KBO draft. He debuted in June with 1 2/3 shutout innings.
