Biographical Information[edit]
Seung-hyun Kim has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team.
Kim represented Korea in the 2013 East Asian Games and won a Silver medal. He also pitched for them in the 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup, allowing one unearned run in six innings. The Samsung Lions selected him in the 1st round of the 2016 KBO draft, and he missed most of the 2016 season due to right elbow injury. Kim had a 5.77 ERA in 41 games in 2017, then he recorded a 4.45 ERA in 28 games in 2018. He struggled again as he only pitched 14 games with a 6.39 ERA in 2019, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service.
Kim surrendered 7 runs in 4 innings after returning in 2021, and the Lions released him. He then had a 10.80 ERA in 4 games for the Geelong-Korea club in the 2022-2023 ABL, and the KIA Tigers signed him. Kim's ERA was 4.26 in 10 games in 2023, and he went 1-0 with a 4.00 ERA in 15 games in 2024.
