Biographical Information[edit]

Seung-ho Park played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 11 years.

Park was drafted by the Samsung Lions in the first round of the 1983 KBO draft, and he hit .237/.332/.361 in his first season. He hit .277/.401/.377 in 92 games in 1984, and he had a .288/.345/.523 batting line with 8 homers in 1985. Park collected 12 doubles with a .275/.350/.418 batting line in 1986, and his batting line was .286/.383/.402 in 1987. He only played 70 games with a .288/.333/.450 batting line in 1988, and he blasted 12 homers with a .291/.357/.468 batting line in 1989. He was 8th in homers in 1989, tied with Soon-chul Lee.

The Daegu native broke out in 1990, and he crushed a career-high 20 homers with a .307/.384/.505 batting line. He was 3rd in homers (between Man-soo Lee and Kang-don Lee), 6th in batting (between Jung-il Ryu and Ho-seong Lee), 4th in hits (between Ryu and Hyeong-seok Kim) and 4th in RBI (between Kang-don Lee and Kyung-ki Kim). He also won the KBO Gold Glove as a designated hitter (unlike in other countries, the Gold Glove in the KBO is not for defense only, but for the best overall player at rach position). Park slumped to .245/.361/.414 in 1991, then he hit .283/.366/.449 in 1992. He played 31 games with a .167/.231/.267 batting line in 1993, then he announced his retirement.

Park later became the batting coach for the Samsung Lions in 1994, for their minors team from 1995 to 1998, for the SK Wyverns from 2000 to 2002 and for the KIA Tigers from 2004 to 2005. He was also then bench coach for KIA from 2006 to 2007, and he managed their minor league team for three months. Park coached Gongju High School from 2008 to 2010 after leaving the Tigers, and he coached the minor league team of the Doosan Bears in 2011, and he became the bench coach for the NC Dinos from 2012 to 2013. He managed NC's minor league team in 2014, and he was their batting coach from 2015 to 2016.

Overall, Park hit .276/.361/.435 with 685 hits and 87 homers in 11 seasons in the KBO.
