Biographical Information[edit]
Seok-min Yoon played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 14 years.
Yoon was drafted by the Doosan Bears in the 3rd round of the 2004 KBO draft, and he mainly stayed in the minors in his first seven seasons. He only played 61 games combined for the top team, and he also missed the 2008 to 2010 seasons due to military service. Yoon also represented South Korea in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, hitting .289/.349/.342 and fielding .895 at third; in the title game against Cuba, he was 1 for 4 from the leadoff spot, with a hit off Dany Betancourt; his teammates managed only three hits in a 3-0 defeat. He returned in 2011, and he played 80 games with a .287/.360/.407 batting line. Yoon then hit .291/.328/.439 with 10 homers in 2012, but he missed most of the 2013 season due to injuries. The Bears then traded him to the Nexen Heroes for Min-seok Jang, and Yoon crushed 10 homers with a .267/.314/.416 batting line in 2014.
The Guri native hit .294/.366/.482 with 14 homers in 2015, then he improved to .334/.420/.546 with 19 homers in 2016 despite missing two months due to injuries. The Heroes then traded him to the KT Wiz for Eui-tae Seo, Dae-hyeon Jeong and 500 million won. Yoon ended up crushing a career-high 20 homers with 30 doubles, 105 RBI and a .312/.357/.483 batting line in 2017, and he blasted 19 homers with a .276/.337/.448 batting line in 2018. Yoon slumped to .231/.258/.290 in 2019, then the Wiz traded him to the SK Wyverns for Do-hwan Hur and 200 million won. Yoon struggled again in 2020 as his batting line was .192/.211/.343, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Yoon hit ..285/.342/.446 with 805 hits and 103 homers in 14 seasons in the KBO.
