Biographical Information[edit]

Scott Diez pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Diez was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 14th round of the 1982 Amateur Draft, and he was 4-3 with a 3.66 ERA for the Elmira Pioneers in his first year. He was 2-4 with a 5.72 ERA for the Winston-Salem Red Sox in 1983, then he went 1-4 with a 7.04 ERA in Elmira in 1984. Diez went to the Detroit Tigers in 1985 and he pitched 4 games for the Lakeland Tigers, then he missed the 1986 season. He was 1-10 with a 4.13 ERA for the Miami Marlins in 1987, then he improved to 12-10 with a 3.48 ERA in 1988.

The Montreal Expos then signed him, and Diez had a 7.98 ERA in 3 games in 1988 season. He went 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA there in 1989, and he signed with the Atlanta Braves in 1990. He had a 5.34 ERA in 20 games for the Durham Bulls, and he recorded a 2.89 ERA in 11 games for the Greenville Braves. Diez also pitched one game for the Jackson Mets affiliated with the New York Mets in that season. The Uni-President Lions signed him in 1995, but he only pitched one game for them. He then had a 7.11 ERA in 6 games for the Aberdeen Pheasants, and his professional career ended.
