Saul Valenzuela pitched in the Mexican League and the CPBL.
Valenzuela began his professional career with the Tigres Capitalinos in 1990, and he pitched for the Cafeteros de Cordoba from 1991 to 1992. He moved to the Pericos de Puebla and stayed there for 3 years, and he pitched for the Langosteros de Quintana Roo from 1996 to 1997. Valenzuela signed with the Langosteros de Cancun in 1998, and he went 14-3 with a 3.18 ERA for them in 1999.
The Wei Chuan Dragons of Taiwan signed him in August, and he went 2-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 1999 CPBL. He started against the Chinatrust Whales in 1999 Taiwan Series Game 4, but he allowed 5 runs in 2 innings and Chi-Hsien Ho beat him with a shutout. The Dragons still beat the Whales in 5 games. Valenzuela was 2-3 with a 9.98 ERA for the Piratas de Campeche in 2000, and he also pitched 7 games with a 8.10 ERA for the Monterrey Sultanes. He went 0-6 with a 5.75 ERA in Cordoba in 2001, and he was 0-3 with a 9.12 ERA in Cancun. Valenzuela struggled again in 2002 as he 3-4 with a 6.54 ERA, and he had a 4.86 ERA in 13 games for the Dos Laredos Tecolotes. He announced his retirement after the 2003 season.
