Ryota Kudo has pitched for the Japanese national team.
Kudo played for Toyota in the industrial leagues after college. [1] He pitched for Japan in the 2023 Asian Championship. Kudo's only appearance in the event was against Pakistan and he struck out 1 in a shutout inning. Relieving Mizuki Kato in the 6th with a 14-0 lead and a no-hitter ongoing, he allowed a single to Raees Bashir, struck out Jibran Murtaza and then Zakir Zakir singled. Hussain Hussain hit into a double play to end the rally and Raiku Katayama replaced Kudo in the 7th. Japan won Gold in the event. [2]
