Biographical Information[edit]
Raiku Katayama has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Katayama played for NTT East Japan in the industrial leagues after High School. [1] He represented for Japan in the 2023 Asian Championship. Katayama pitched a shutout inning against Pakistan, struck out all 3 batters he faced against the Philippines then recorded another 2 shutout innings against South Korea. Japan won Gold in the event. [2] The Orix Buffaloes selected him in the 6th round of the 2024 NPB draft, and he debuted against the Seibu Lions on April 16, 2025..
