Biographical Information

Raiku Katayama has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Katayama played for NTT East Japan in the industrial leagues after High School. He represented for Japan in the 2023 Asian Championship. Katayama pitched a shutout inning against Pakistan, struck out all 3 batters he faced against the Philippines then recorded another 2 shutout innings against South Korea. Japan won Gold in the event. The Orix Buffaloes selected him in the 6th round of the 2024 NPB draft, and he debuted against the Seibu Lions on April 16, 2025..
