Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ryan Lollis began playing in the San Francisco Giants system in 2009. He reached the majors in 2015.

Amateur Career[edit]

Lollis hit .520 with 10 homers and 57 RBI in high school, going 10-1 with a 1.11 ERA and 106 K on the hill. He was All-State. He was drafted in the 20th round of the 2005 amateur draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of high school, a few slots after Wade Miley, but did not sign a contract. He hit .327/.384/.436 as a college freshman and .294 with a .396 slugging percentage as a sophomore. His junior year, he hit .339/?/.427 with 17 doubles and 48 runs in 60 games. He was then taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 20th round of the 2008 amateur draft, one round after Ben Guez, but once again did not ink a contract. As a senior at Missouri, he hit .287 with 50 runs in 61 games and stole 15 bases in 16 tries. He tied Brandon Belt for 8th in the Big 12 Conference in steals and tied for second with five triples. After being drafted by the Giants in the 37th round of the 2009 amateur draft, he did sign. The scout was Todd Thomas.

Pro Career[edit]

He began his career well, hitting .312/.373/.427 with 62 hits in 52 games for the 2009 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. He was 9th in the Northwest League in average, between Jeremiah Sammy and Tommy Mendonca. In 2010, he batted .288/.345/.380 in 114 games for the Augusta Greenjackets. The right fielder tied Darren Ford for 5th in the Giants chain with 9 triples. In the South Atlantic League, he tied Eliezer Mesa, Juan Lagares, Jeremy Hazelbaker, Leandro Castro and Steve Bumbry for second, 3 behind Evan Crawford.

In 2011, he hit .303/.381/.399 with 10 stolen bases and 108 hits in 97 games split between the Greenjackets (.314/.393/.422 in 80 G), San Jose Giants (.255/.333/.294 in 14 games) and Richmond Flying Squirrels (2 for 9 in 3 G). He batted .300/.364/.424 with 8 home runs, 60 RBI and 148 hits in 125 games split between San Jose (.296/.347/.418 in 75 G) and the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. In his first taste of Triple-A, he hit .309/.393/.434 in 50 games. His 76 runs were third in the Giants chain behind Adam Duvall and Joe Panik. He returned to Richmond for 2013, where he regressed a bit by hitting .267/.345/.377 with 125 hits in 136 games, fielding .983 in CF. He hit only .182/.250/.273 that winter for the Aguilas del Zulia.
