In three seasons at Auburn, he had hit .281, .377 and .365, with the middle of those seasons cut to 18 games by the COVID-19 pandemic. He played in the 2019 College World Series as a freshman.

He made his pro debut in 2021, playing 2 games with the ACL Diamondbacks and 37 with the Visalia Oaks, where he hit .260 with 6 homers and 23 RBIs. Defensively, he played mainly shortstop, with a couple dozen games at second base as well. In 2023, he got off to a blazing start with the Amarillo Sod Poodles of the Texas League, batting .358 in 68 games to earn a promotion to AAA. He was also named to play in the 2023 Futures Game. He was hitting .196 after 13 games for the Reno Aces of the Pacific Coast League when on July 31st, he was traded to the Seattle Mariners along with Dominic Canzone and Josh Rojas in return for P Paul Sewald, who was immediately installed as the D-Backs' closer. For his part, Bliss moved to the Tacoma Rainiers, staying in the PCL, where he hit .251 over his last 47 games. Overall, his batting line over 128 games that season was .304/.378/.524, with 34 doubles, 8 triples, 23 homers, 110 runs and 86 RBIs; he also stole 55 bases for good measure. He was named a Player of the Month three times that season, in April and May in the Texas League, and September in the PCL. He was an All-Star in the Texas League, then after playing in the Arizona Fall League, was named that circuit's best defensive player.

He started the 2024 season with Tacoma, hitting .247 with 7 homers and 35 RBIs in his first50 games. He was called up to Seattle and made his major league debut on May 27th, starting at second base and batting 8th in a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros.
