Biographical Information[edit]
Ruben Niebla pitched in the minor leagues from 1995 to 2000 with the Montreal Expos and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations. He ended his career with a record of 26-27 with a 4.49 ERA.
On August 9, 2012 he was named interim pitching coach for the Cleveland Indians replacing Scott Radinsky. He returned to the Indians in 2020, this time as assistant pitching coach. On October 27, 2021, he was hired by the San Diego Padres to be their pitching coach in 2022, something that was unusual because the team had not yet named a manager at that time (the appointment of Bob Melvin as manager followed a day later).
