Biographical Information[edit]

Robi Estrada has been a minor league infielder.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays took Estrada as a draft-and-follow pick in the 19th round of the 2006 amateur draft. The scout was Robbie Moen. After a season of junior college, he signed. He hit .232/.290/.302 for the 2007 Princeton Devil Rays while fielding .899 as their main shortstop. He batted .242/.316/.332 for the 2008 Hudson Valley Renegades, scored 42 runs in 63 games and fielded .938 at short. In 2009, he slumped to .225/.284/.253 for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, splitting second base with Isaias Velasquez, backing up Tim Beckham at short and backing up Velasquez at 3B.

Repeating with Bowling Green in 2010, Estrada hit .240/.341/.281 and stole 14 bases in 18 tries, fielding .944 as the main shortstop. He was a backup infielder in his third season with the Hot Rods, hitting .255/.341/.359 and going 14-for-17 in steals. Moving up to the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 2012, he batted .253/.310/.357, primarily backing up Derek Dietrich at SS.
