Biographical Information[edit]

Ricardo Bordón has been an outfielder in the Cuban Serie Nacional and had the hit that gave the Tigres de Ciego de Avila their first title.

Bordón was 4 for 10 with a double in his rookie season, which took place either in 2004-2005 or some point prior. He next saw action in 2007-2008, when he hit .347/.374/.389 and tied for third in the Serie Nacional with eight times caught stealing. The Tigres flyhawk hit .269 and slugged .323 as a bench player in 2008-2009. In 2009-2010, he became the starter in left field and produced at a .346/.411/.459 clip; he had 7 assists to 2 errors, fielding .980. He stole only 6 bases in 15 tries and tied Dainer Moreira for 7th in caught stealing.

In 2010-2011, Ricardo batted .322/.451/.400 as a backup in left. He fell to .261/.329/.309 with no home runs, only 29 runs and 26 RBI in 86 games in 2011-2012, used mostly at DH. In the finals, though, he scored the tying run in the second off Antonio Romero when Yoelvis Fiss doubled. He came up in the bottom of the 11th with a 3-3 tie and Yorbis Borroto aboard. Facing Julio Montesinos, he singled in the winner to give the Tigres their first championship.

Ricardo hit .290/.388/.304 in 2012-2013, with just one extra-base hit (a double) in 36 games.
