Biographical Information

Ray Faust pitched in the minor leagues from 1946 to 1951 and from 1954 to 1955.

He won 20 or more games twice. In 1949, between the Amarillo Gold Sox (19-7, 4.05 ERA) and Jackson Senators (1-1), he was 20-8 with 18 complete games and 201 strikeouts in 232 innings. He was second in the West Texas-New Mexico League in wins (behind Roy Parker's 23), second in winning percentage (.731, behind Jack Gutierrez's .818) and tied for second in shutouts with 2. With the Lubbock Hubbers in 1951, he was 21-12 with a 3.40 ERA in 35 games (32 starts). He led the WTNML in innings pitched (283) and was second in walks allowed (140, behind George Payte's 199). He also won 14 games for the Butler Yankees in 1947, 13 games between two clubs in 1950 and 12 games between two clubs in 1954.

He was taken in the Rule V Draft twice. First, he was taken by the Columbus Cardinals of the St. Louis Cardinals system from the Norfolk Tars of the New York Yankees system in the A-level portion of the 1947 draft. The Montgomery Rebels drafted him from the Lubbock Hubbers in the A-level portion of the 1951 draft.

He was a Korean War veteran.
