Biographical Information[edit]
Raudelin Legra has played winters in Cuba and summers in France.
Legra debuted for the Holguín Sabuesos in the 2008-2009 Serie Nacional, pitching 4 1/3 shutout innings (1 H, 1 BB). That earned him regular work in 2009-2010 but he struggled (1-2, 7.38). He tied for 10th in the league with 32 games pitched. In 2010-2011, he again struggled (12 H, 5 R in 5 2/3 IP). That led to his moving to catcher in 2011-2012; he hit .276/.313/.474.
In 2012-2013, his batting line fell to .198/.229/.396 but threw out 44% of those who tried to steal and hit 6 homers in 91 at-bats to tie for third on the team in HR despite being a backup and recently transitioning from pitching. During 2013-2014, he again showed good steal prevention (56% CS) and power (4th on the team with 6 HR, still a backup to Franklin Aballe). He hit .276/.295/.434, drawing walks being the big drawback (3 BB).
Legra joined the Templiers de Sénart that summer, alongside former Holguín catcher Ernesto Martínez, who had been playing in France for several summers. He beat Italian powerhouse ASD Rimini in the 2014 European Cup but lost to Germany's Regensburg Legionäre and Mike Bolsenbroek to go 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA; he did not do as well on offense (.250/.250/.300). He led the Cup in IP (17, 3 ahead of Floris Timmer) and was 4th with 11 K (between Ciro Licea and Dmytro Limarenko). For the French Division I season, he was a solid two-way player; as one of their ace relievers, he was 3-1 with one save and no earned runs (3 UER) and 9 hits in 23 2/3 IP. He also batted .316/.320/.439 with 17 runs in 23 games. He tied Michael Revell for 4th in the league in doubles, though he led in balks (7). In the finals, he helped the Templiers to their first title, saving Licea's game 3 win over the Paris Université Club to wrap it up.
He next played in 2016-2017, hitting .251/.301/.369 as a backup C-1B for Holguín. In 2017-2018, he was their most-used first baseman and most-used third baseman as well, hitting .321/.354/.405. He returned to France in the summer of '18. In the 2018 CEB Cup, he struggled on the hill (0-1, 6.30) and lost to the Arrows Ostrava. He did hit .368/.368/.684 with two homers and seven RBI in five games. He tied for 5th in the event in RBI, tied for 3rd in homers (behind Terrell Joyce and Slobodan Gales), tied Roman Boiko, Maurice Wilhelm and Takanobu Oshima for 6th with 13 total bases and led with three pick-offs (no other pitcher had more than one).
