Pembroke is in southern North Carolina about 15 miles from the South Carolina border and 30 miles southwest of Fayetteville, NC. Nate Andrews was born here. University of North Carolina at Pembroke is located here and Pembroke High School formerly was.
UNC Pembroke has hosted many postseason tournaments inculding an NAIA District Tournament in 1965, 1966, 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1977, the 1973 NAIA Area 7 Tournament, and the 2021 Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
