Biographical Information[edit]

Pei Liang has played in the independent leagues and for the Chinese national team.

He hit .191/.267/.206 in 24 games for the 2018 Texas AirHogs, fielding .956 at 2B (he appeared in 21 games there, four behind team leader Xiaolei Du). He was one of many Chinese players on the team, which had an arrangement with China. He also has played for the Beijing Tigers. [1] In the 2023 World Baseball Classic, he hit leadoff and played right in their opener against Samurai Japan. Facing the great Shohei Ohtani, he struck out and grounded out. In the 6th, he went deep off Shosei Togo for China's lone run. Against the Czech national team, he made an error in the first. He made up for it in the 7th when his single off Michal Kovala scored Jinjun Luo with the tying run but China could not hold on when the Czechs rallied in the 9th. He finished at .188/.188/.375. His two runs tied former minor leaguer Ray Chang for the team lead, his three hits were one behind Jin Yang for the most on the team and he had their lone homer. He was third on China in RBI (one behind Jie Cao and Luo) and only Cao had a better slugging. [2]
