Biographical Information[edit]
Orrin Freeman was head baseball coach at San Francisco State University from 1979 to 1982. Following his time at San Francisco State, he was a scout for the New York Yankees (1984-1987) and Montreal Expos (1988-1991). He joined the Florida Marlins organization in 1991. He was the team's Director of Scouting from 1995 to 1998. Since that time, he has been an Special Assistant to the team's General Manager.
He signed Andy Stankiewicz and Tim Layana among others.
