Biographical Information[edit]
Andy Stankiewicz was signed by scout Orrin Freeman for the New York Yankees as a 12th round pick in the 1986 amateur draft.
Stankiewicz worked for the New York Yankees in 2002-2005 as a scout and a coach for the GCL Yankees. He also managed the Staten Island Yankees in 2003 and 2005.
Stankiewicz became an assistant coach at Arizona State University in 2007-2009. He was then the Seattle Mariners' Minor League Field Coordinator in 2010 and 2011, leaving in the middle of the second year to accept the position of head baseball coach at Grand Canyon University. Stankiewicz was hired away by USC to be head coach in 2023. He coached for the US in the 2014 Junior Pan American Championships and managed the US to a title in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup.
Stankiewicz's son, Drew, reached AAA in 2022. Another son, Dane, played for Andy at Grand Canyon and became an assistant coach at Saddleback College and University of California, San Diego.
