Biographical Information[edit]

Nicolás Débora has pitched in the minors and won Gold with the Dominican national team.

He was signed by New York Mets scouts Hilario Soriano and Gerardo Cabrera in 2012. [1] He was 0-1 with 5 runs (4 earned) in 5 innings for the 2012 DSL Mets 1. He split 2013 between the DSL Mets 1 and DSL Mets 2, going a combined 1-3 with a 2.81 ERA and only 3 walks in 25 2/3 IP. In '14, he was 3-2 with a 3.69 ERA between the same two clubs.

In a fourth stint in the Dominican Summer League, he had a 5-2, 1.65 record and one save in 2015, with a .94 WHIP. He was named the team MVP. [2] He was 5th in the DSL in ERA. [3] In 2016, he came stateside, going 4-2 wit ha 4.46 ERA for the GCL Mets with 41 K in 40 1/3 IP.

Débora was 1-4 with a save and a 2.33 ERA for the 2017 Brooklyn Cyclones, striking out 56 in 54 innings and winning team MVP. [4] He split 2018 between the Cyclones (1-0, 4.91 in 3 G), Columbia Fireflies (3-5, 3.65 in 21 G) and St. Lucie Mets (1-0, 2.70 in 1 G). He finished his minor league career at 19-19, 3.13 with two saves in 88 games (47 starts).

When the Dominican Republic won the 2022 Bolivarian Games, he made two appearances, both against Venezuela. He closed out the lone Dominican loss, relieving Frangely Morel and striking out Alejandro Lubo. His other game, he finished off Samuel Burgos's victory over Venezuela, working two shutout innings and allowing two hits while fanning two. [5]
