Biographical Information[edit]

Samuel Burgos has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

He was 2-2 with a save and a 3.68 ERA in 11 games (one start) for the 2018 DSL Rangers 1. With the same team the next year, he had similar stats (2-1, 2 Sv, 3.21 in 14 G) but improved his WHIP from 1.86 to 1.18. After being released by Texas, he was the first player to pitch for the Dominican Republic in a Bolivarian Games, starting their opener of the 2022 Bolivarian Games. In a mismatch with Peru, he struck out 13 of 22 batters (walking two and allowing a Rider Zevallos hit), nearly getting a no-hitter in a shutout win over Ken Ishihara. Interestingly, the first Dominican to homer in a Bolivarian Games (to back his cause) shared his 6/7 birthdate - Wildert Pujols. [1]
